Selling one car to get my "dream car" back

Last October while i was leaving MATC in Oak Creek I was unfortunately in an accident that totaled my car. A guy ran a stop sign and was at fault, but i still lost my car. Being a car guy, it was a lot more than just a car to me, it was the car I've wanted ever since i knew what cars were even. I now have the opportunity to buy another one and I couldn't be happier.

The thing about this car is that it's a pretty rare car. It's a Volkswagen Golf R32. Only 5,000 were made, and they were only made in 2004. So to own one in the VW world is a pretty big deal.

This was my car in some of her best days:

And this was minutes after the accident right on College Ave:

And sitting, waiting to hear back from insurance:

After this happened i bought a BMW M3, but it just wasn't the same as owning this VW. Now I just can't wait to buy another R32.

Lowering some cars

Last night (Friday night) a few of us got together to put some new suspension on a friends VW. The whole purpose of this was to lower his car, and it ended up successful after running into a few problems.

Not the best picture, it was taken with a friends phone, but you get the point.

Chicago Auto Show 2013 Press Day

Today was the day, I got to see some pretty cool cars from a lot of different car makers.

I've heard a lot about these new Ford Focus ST's finally coming to the states. And the company Fifteen52 got to do whatever they wanted to this one in particular. One of my favorites at the show.

This car was my personal favorite from the show today. I know it's a Beetle and those are "girls cars" but this one was awesome. Completely custom Fifteen52 wheels, an all wheel drive drivetrain out of VW's new Golf R, custom interior, custom exterior, lots of time and money went into this car.

More BMX

I found another video that has more of me in it, brings back memories of long trips, long nights on the road, long nights cruising around new cities, exploring states that we've never been to just to find a new spot to ride our bikes, meet new people to ride our bikes with, discover new restaurants that we don't have here in Milwaukee, and most of all just have fun.

And a couple pictures of me riding:

Social media and press passes

I recently got a pass to go to the Chicago Auto Show as a social media press person. I guess this means I can talk to people, take some photos, post them online, and that will justify my trip to Chicago. That and I just love cars so I will enjoy seeing all the new cars that will be available in the next few months.

BMX

Ever since i was in middle school BMX bikes played a big role in my life. They took me all over the country and even into Canada. They are a way to escape from whatever is going on in life that causes stress, unhappiness, or anything else. It's the best form of freedom I know and I still try to find time to get on my bike and ride to get my mind off things, hang out with friends, have some fun, or a number of other reasons.

This is one of the first videos i was in (I'm the 2nd person if you couldn't tell by my name).

Not the Packers but still happy with the results

Ever since I was a kid and started watching football i remember being a fan of Ray Lewis. I know there's a lot of controversy around him and the things he may or may not have done but regardless, he's a great football player and one of the best Linebackers to ever play the game. Although I think most of us would've preferred to watch the Packers win the Super Bowl, I think it was very cool to see Ray Lewis and the Ravens win. Especially since Ray Lewis is retiring now.

Subarus, transmissions, clunking and shifting

I bought a Subaru a couple weeks ago and unfortunately had to replace the transmission and clutch already. After spending a good amount of money the time came to finally have the work done.

Here's a picture of the car i have even though it's not my picture.

This is the transmission i had to replace since the 2nd gear in my original transmission decided it didn't want to be there anymore:

And here is the little piece that's been giving me a lot of issues. A small aluminum shifter adapter. And all it takes is one little crack to make my shifting feel like crap:

Lower Standards

Lower Standards is a group of guys that like low cars and good times. I've been a part of Lower Standards for about a year now and we've made a lot of forward progress in a lot of ways. When I first became part of it we were just a group of guys that liked to hang out. Now we have t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, hats, a growing social media presence, and we've begun planning a car show for later this year.

We now have a FacebookTwitter, and an instagram (it's used on phones so i can't link it here).

These are the t-shirts and sweatshirts we've had made recently to sell and help fund out future plans:

This is one of our main logos:

First Post, some low cars

This is the first blog I've made so excuse me if it isn't cool or very original. Some of my favorite things in life are BMX bikes, low cars, good music, and more low cars. So i'll share some pictures, stories and experiences on this blog. To start off, here are a few pictures i took on a drive to Michigan for a car show in the summer of 2012.
